Laser Resolves All Disputes with Polaroid
Polaroid Corporation
and Boston Laser have reached an agreement, which settles all disputes
the parties have had in the past.
Boston Laser retains all the intellectual property, equipment and other
assets it acquired from Polaroid in April 2000.
In addition to the assets it has from Polaroid, the company has recently
acquired the assets of Semiconductor Laser International in Binghamton,
NY. Since these new assets include a building with an excellent clean
room, the company decided to terminate the lease in the Polaroid Park
in Norwood and to move to New York.
Polaroid was for many years the flagship of high-tech industry in the
United States. It is known primarily for its instant film. It developed,
however, many other high-tech products such as double clad fiber lasers
and high power high brightness semi-conductor lasers of legendary reliability.
Boston Laser was very pleased with the acquisition of Polaroid Laser
Diode Division. For the last three years, it continued to make semiconductor
lasers developed by Polaroid as well as a range of new laser diodes and
laser systems.
