3W Hermetically Sealed
Fiber Coupled 808 nm Laser
This is Boston Laser proprietary product for aerospace, ground and commercial applications. The package, unlike the usual 14 pin butterfly (originally developed by SDL for low power) is specifically designed for output power higher than 1W.
The semiconductor laser itself is mounted on C-block, thus providing excellent heat transfer properties and reliability of high volume production. In conventional butterfly, the laser is mounted on much smaller sub-mount.
This fiber coupled laser is a hermetically sealed, fully soldered unit, with optional TE cooler, thermistor and photodiode (the number of pins varies according to selected option).
A special version meets MIL 810-F.
BLI is planning qualification of the product for outer space.
